[T-969] The real reason Migaku and Anki2SM don't work together
Dear Rine,
It’s neither the stars nor the question marks that mess up my Anki2SM imports, I’m afraid.
The source of the problem is the Migaku card exporter, as far as I can ascertain.
The Card Exported is a separate window that manages the card creation process. So with Migaku, you are not creating cards directly in Anki’s interface, but by way of this go-between card exporter (unless I’m just clueless about Anki).
I tried importing those cards from yesterday without the question marks and I get the same results.
So I tried an alternative approach today. I wanted to see what happens if I don’t import word definitions into cards from the Migaku dictionary using its built-in functionality.
Instead, I pasted the words manually from the dictionary into the secondary field of this card explorer.
When I imported, all the definitions were there. The question field was there. The audio was there. As far as pictures, all five were missing.
I was hoping I was done and over with the setup phase of my journey, but I have to take a step back now. I need to try another approach and see if I ought to retire Migaku… or if perhaps I should settle using it in this roundabout way (maybe I don’t need the pictures?).
I’ll try and establish my new setup by the end of this week.
What I planned/did today
- Passive immersion (not as much as usual)
- Active immersion
- Reps
- Catching up with final drill
Tomorrow
- Pilot test alternative sentence mining setup.
