[T-981] Today for the first time I did all 3 things I'm supposed to be doing
Dear Rine,
Today is perhaps the first day I spun all three plates: I did my reps, immersed passively, and mined sentences.
I allocated 1 hour and 15 minutes to my active immersion. In that time I mined 22 sentences. Again, I wasn’t chasing a target number. It just turned out that way. (although the number seems unusually high to me).
I’d like to be able to put in two hours daily. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. For now, I need to figure out how to make this one hour work consistently. This will be my mission for the next week.
The thing now is to trust the process. Because this early stage of mining sentences is awkward. My immersion is stilted. I kept pausing the video to read each line of the subtitle. Yet most the lines just went over my head, which felt like a waste of time.
But the thing is to persevere through the awkward stage.
This journey is like riding on a back of a tortoise. You need to buckle the seat belt just so that you prevent a simple distraction from making you accidentally disembark your vehicle.
What I did today
- Reps (about half an hour in the morning)
- Passive listening (iPod, Youtube)
- Active immersion (1h, 22 sentences)
More of the same tomorrow. I won’t try anything new on the weekends.
P.S. Oh yes, I also found this cool grammar reference. Sometimes I’m not sure if a string of hiragana is a separate word or a grammar suffix. This index helps clarify that.
